March 24, on the snows of Sesto, in the holiday region Three Peaks in the Dolomites: it’s time for the 22th edition of the Drei Zinne Skiraid, ski mountaineering race taking place at the feet of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, heart of the Dolomites Unesco World Heritage.
The route of the Drei Zinnen Skiraid is 13 km long, with an altitude difference of 1,500 meters. It starts at the Rif. Pian Fiscalina, reaches the rifugios of Fondovalle, Comici and Pian di Cengia, then goes down to the Piani tarns. The route then goes uphill to Sasso di Sesto, at an altitude of 2,539 meters, and back down to the rifugio Fondovalle, the finish. Duration: a little less than two hours for trained athletes.
